Afscheidsfoto 2011
Kun je het ene thuis makkelijk verruilen voor het andere?
Chinese migranten zijn op een dag uit hun vaderland vertrokken om zich voorgoed elders te vestigen. Wat waren hun gedachten op het punt van vertrek? Hebben zij nog een foto van dit moment? Een afscheidsfoto op het vliegveld misschien? Yuen Han Lam is een dochter van Chinese immigranten uit Hong Kong. Zij gaat – geïnspireerd door de verhalen van haar familie – op zoek naar foto’s en verhalen rondom het vertrek van Chinezen uit hun vaderland.
Afscheidsfoto laat een collectie levensverhalen en foto’s van Chinezen in Nederland zien, van verschillende generaties. Het is een zoektocht naar de verhalen van vele migranten die hun levensgeluk elders gingen zoeken.
Afscheidsfoto is een project van Yuen Han Lam en Erika Blikman. Het eerste resultaat van dit project was te zien tijdens het jubileumfeest. Met dank aan: alle geïnterviewden, Asako Takahashi, Maurice van de Griend en Tim Lai. Tijdens de Wereldhavendagen 2011 was ’Afscheidsfoto’ een onderdeel van de China op de Kaap bootexcursie.

Het is ook mogelijk om deel te nemen aan een bootexcursie waarvan ‘Afscheidsfoto’ een onderdeel van is en kost € 7,50.
